Shorter commute helps students manage classes, projects and late study sessions. Consider MRT and bus routes, not just straight-line distance.

Budget beyond rental
Plan for utilities, internet, aircon usage, transport and food. A cheaper room far away may not always be cheaper overall.

Rules and housemates
Ask about cooking, visitors, laundry, aircon timing and cleaning expectations before committing.
